Suchen.de improves mobile search
t-info is expanding the service of its local search engine, suchen.de in the mobile search arena.
In collaboration with the online directory and mobile search specialists, IT2media, and mobilePeople, t-info aims to bring its local search engine suchen.de as a Java Client to German mobile phones within the near future.
Thereby mobile local search delivered by suchen.de will be faster and more efficient, said the operators. Additionally, the Java-client offers more functionality compared to pure WAP-based search options. Search results will be displayed on an interactive map, directly in the mobile appliance’s address book, or enabled to be forwarded as a SMS. The ‘Auto Complete’ function will also simplify user entry of search terms. Further, alongside local search for addresses and contact details of undertakings and products, , there will also be access to local information such as regional news and weather.
At present the Java Client is being tested ‘in the field’, says t-info. The full version, which will support all major mobile phone models and systems, can be expected on the market in the second half of 2007. It will be available for download from the suchen.de portal.
