Speculation of a “Location-Based Facebook”
Though quite overdue, experts speculate that Facebook will be announcing their headquarters in San Francisco F8 at the end of April on the next F8. The New York Times, the original reporters for the claim, says their information is from anonymous sources.
The move isn’t at all surprising. Many Facebook-users are currently checking-in from Foursquare or Gowalla through the connect-function in their account. No wonder that the speculation is immediately going in the direction of cooperation between Facebook and one of the two services. The move will be worth it: there are officially 1.5 million locally operating businesses on Facebook worldwide. It’s a nice advertising market.
