The Dealmap: Where are the best deals in the City?

The evaluation forum Center’d in the USA has introduced a new ad site in the worldwide web. It’s called „The Dealmap “ and is meant to help users look for the best deals in their city in a certain category. “Coming soon”…

At this time, there’s not much more to the site than a map of the area and a couple of attention-catching slogans: “What’s more exciting than a great deal? A whole bunch of them!” It’s them blowing out a lot of hot air and simply indicating what the service will eventually do. “We’re already working on collecting the best local deals for the largest number of sources.” How good these deals will really be? One can only wait to find out. The function of the site is certainly clear: the user gives in what he’s looking for, and in which city, and clicks his way through the map and the deals.


Blogger icon Greg Sterling makes an interesting point: “The alchemical brew of deal sites, geo-location games, social media and mobile is now starting to really accelerate change in what had been a relatively stable and static local search market for several years.“
