One For All: New Check-in Service For Despairing Checker-inners
13 Apr. 2010 | Author: Sometimes you get the impression that the Social Media makes fun of itself. Checkin Mania from Fast Company is now showing users who is using which check-in service and where. In contrast,Check.in allows its users to check in over Foursquare, Brightkite and Gowalls at the same time…
The new services really open the user’s eyes to exactly how many me-toos there are on the Social Media market. Checkin Mania doesn’t really do anything more than help the users of the check-in services Foursquare, Gowalla, Brightknite, and Yelp use them all together, with enormous help from Google Maps. Whoever checks into multiple servers on location, can quickly arouse suspicion through “digital schizophrenia”. Last known, only Foursquare and Gowalla were so developed. But the universal accessibility has always only been a matter of time.
Check.in is taking an entirely different approach to the whole matter. The service helps those agitated checker inners who have no idea which check-in service to use. Foursquare? Or rather Gowalla? What about Brightknite??? It doesn’t matter: Check.in has made it so that all of them can be displayed. And when it works like it should, there’s a comforting little green dot on the location display.
