Google: One in Five Searches is Local
Google released some interesting statistics with the release of Google Places. One of which being that 20% of every search conducted is directed towards the local market.
The numbers were released in accompaniment with Google Places (we report). According to the reports, the search engine was used by a disappointing four million companies worldwide – 50% of them being in the USA. Wherever Google is headed with the renaming of the local business listings is made perfectly clear with one more statistic: there are now about 50 million Place Pages. It’s apparent that the approximation should have a monetary reward. Will the potential groups accept the dispatch? On the other hand, there are only about four million accesses per day, and that from 50 million sites! Mountain View…do we have a problem?
