Yellow Pages Group on a Shopping Spree
Just a few days ago, the Yellow Pages Groups revealed a new logo and redesigned their image to being a modern “meat-head”. (We report) Now, the Canadian mega-directory is being serious and is in the process of gaining more power in the market.
The company laid out 225 million Canadian dollars, coverted to about 170 million Euro, to purchase the competition Canpages, which produces eight million books, divided into 84 categories, proving itself to be quite able, despite a lack of a long history. The biggest appeal is probably that 450 of he 700 Canpages employees work in the market.
All that aside, the Canadians are topping the US sister Your Community Phone Book by 35% in the online directory ZipLocal and are pushing themselves even further in the US market.
