Meinestadt.de With New Local Search

For a long time, users could only perform location-dependant search in the individual theme channels – which can be considered idle. This should now change: the city-based portal has edited its local internet search and would like to make the entire deal more user friendly with the new “Universal Search” function.
Whoever has been on the look-out for something particular on meinestadt.de can now comb through the entire theme section thanks to the new intelligent search. I.e. whoever types in “restaurant” and “Munich” in the search bar not only receives ten restaurant addresses but further local information related to the search posted directly next to the addresses. This includes job postings and events in the restaurants, phonebook entries, classified ads, or even shopping guides.
As showed on our test, the user cannot search in a particular place. In other words, searching for restaurants in 80636 Munich will not bring up results in the area, but rather in the entire city. You can search for an exact address, making your search a little more specific, but the interesting extras as previously mentioned won’t be included in the post.
