Meinestadt.de Starts National Blog Project

Location-based news from messaging portals have been available from meinedtadt.de for some time. Now there will be blogs from cities and communities through “Stadt Aktuell” (Eng. Up-to-date City). So there won’t be just information from local interests, but even content from private blogs and from clubs.

The city portal hopes to open up a new possibility of using especially private blogs, which authentically portray the city life. Users of the new city blogs cannot only comment, the can also write their own pieces as a so-called “city writer”. And with the “Stadtgetwitter” (Eng. City twitter), users can follow locally posted tweets.

City blogs are currently being tested in the Beta phase, with blogs like “Berlin Aktuell”, “München (Munich) Aktuell”, or “Trier Aktuell”. Current blogs are able to be viewed under Meinestadt Aktuell.
