Fight for the Middle Class (II): Website in a Package from Telegate

Just how important the personal website is in the times of social media definitely brings up some opposing ideas, especially when discussing the involvement of a firm in the Web 2.0 world. When it comes to small- to medium-sized industries, Telegate (11880, Klicktel) has found an unusual answer – the Munich-based firm is helping online companies to build their own web presence.

The package, costing 149 Euro, is called “firm-website” and promises its users a profi-go into the internet: “from domain registration, design programming, creation of video clips, search engine optimization, and to webhosting.” The entire operation is put into practice through the so-called web producer team from Telegate, which takes customer demands during a briefing and applies them to the website.

Whether or not this works is questionable at best. The self-entry was a huge flop in Germany – will this complete website package be able to draw in small business owners? Generally, they tend to favor a personal consultation face to face.

However, those who would even be interested in the package for virtual communication are probably so obsessed with the internet, that they’ve already got a website or some other form of web presence through rating communities or Facebook. The competition is high in the world where small firms can even be successful without their own URL.

We can definitely look forward to hearing more from Telegate and their new attempt to please customers…
