Foursquare? Gifted!
Who ever said that? There are some good ideas from the check-in providers. Gifi is a good example: with their iPhone App, one can donate gifts to friends when one checks into a certain location on Foursquare.
If stores aren’t doing enough to try to attract Foursquare users in with promises of treats or free drinks, the community has to do it for itself. This is the mashed up idea from the payment provider Venmo. The idea is simple and great: the user can check into Foursquare in a store, and leave a gift for a friend in the digital store. In other words, you can buy a latté macchiato and a muffin for your friend, without even having to have them alongside with you. When your friend comes into the store and checks in, they will recieve the information that they’ve got a gift waiting for them in the store.
We think it’s a great idea. But it’s yet another new idea that Foursquare didn’t come up with…
