Friendticker: Large Donation despite Facebook Places

Oh how the world of check-ins feared the coming of Facebook’s killer application Places.The horrifying earthquake has faded, and Germany’s equivalent of Foursquare Friendticker is yet again filling its pockets.
Friendticker’s boss Florian Resatsch definitely has cause to celebrate: his start-up from Berlin just got a seven-digit capital injection. The generous sponsors are DuMont Venture, the NRW-Bank, and the private investor Klaus Wecken.
With pockets full, Friendticker now has an eye on foreign markets. Sales and marketing are the first on the list to be worked on. Furthermore, the service should be getting some tight bonds with Facebook Places. The goal: Friendticker users who check in through Facebook can still be rewarded over Friendticker.
