taxi-caller: “Car 734 will be there in 3 minutes”

Order a taxi without making a single call – that’s what the new iPhone-App taxi-caller, from the Hamburg-based Talex Mobile Solutions, promises. Just a press of a button will do. The software localizes the user via GPS and informs the taxi center.
“With taxi-caller, passengers don’t have to search for a telephone number,“ said Olaf Mühlen from Talex. The service places the call to the taxi center using a special speech software. When the order is successfully placed, the user is automatically sent an approximate arrival time on the iPhone. The app is currently available in a few larger cities in Germany and only on the iPhone, but will likely expand after the first test phase.
