Bing Wants To Be More Local, Social, and User-Friendly
Microsoft’s search engine Bing has announced a number of updates that will be going live in the next couple of weeks. In particular, the local offering from Bing Maps, the counterpart of Google Maps, will be launching some new features.
The revamp of the map features should provide users with more efficient readability and quicker loading times, according to Bing’s blog. Users can, for example, order tickets for a sporting event or make reservations in a restaurant directly from the result list, and can even get a 360-degree view of the location before taking any action.
The partnership with Facebook will also be expanded. Soon, users that are also Facebook member will be able to see which search results their friends “liked” on Facebook.
The new mobile version of Bing, which also offers these and many more features, is already available. In the most recent version, panorama pictures, thanks to “Microsoft Streetside”, have been added.
