Easycheck: New Platform For Local Search 3.0
It’s been two years since Holger Heinze and Andreas Jung began their work with their team to design a new local search engine, and now it’s gone live: Easycheck, a type of online directory, couponing portal, job center, and ratings community all in one.
The goal is to grow to the most extensive platform for local search 3.0 and to establish transparency. These are certainly some confident words, and Heinze doesn’t stop there: “We’re not afraid of being compared to the internet giants like gelbeseiten.de, Groupon, Facebook, & Co.” Sounds pretty courageous…
We’ve gotta admit that the idea to combine four platforms into one is pretty cool. Businesses can professionally present their companies in a website-like format, publish new information, current deal, coupons, and job postings quickly and without any complications, as well as win new customers from positive customer feedback. Users can currently find information about approximately 500 local businesses throughout Germany. Users have the possibility to rate websites that are not registered on Easycheck, “because [they] want to introduce everyone to the best hotspots in the city, and not just the paid business ads,” explained Karin Lange, the press speaker for Easycheck to the Local Search Blog. And that’s exactly what the website claims: “The Best in Your City.”
The entries and information is currently – with emphasis on currently – well-arranged. However, there are no results for, for example, dentists in Munich. The reason: the start-up from Erfurt does not cooperate with a partner that collect address information. The entries come instead mostly from the store owners that register on Easycheck. Whether or not the new platform will be able to enter the same league as sites like Meinestadt.de, Qype, golocal, & Co. with its current strategy is difficult to say. In any case, the young team will need to roll up their sleeves and get to work on some advertising.
