Meinestadt.de Claims Leading Title for Itself

After a market study declared it the “strongest online brand for local search” in the German net, meinestadt.de is taking it to the next step: with about 19.5 million visits in July, the portal is now claiming the title of “leading local offering in the German internet” for itself.
The Siegburgians cite the numbers from the IVW. The lead is quite small, however. Das Telefonbuch follows shortly behind with 18.7 million visits and Das Örtliche with 18.5. Depending on how one views this, the operators from DeTeMedien and the phonebook publishers could technically claim about 40 million visits – this would be, however, quite theoretical, as with the self-proclaimed title from meinestadt.de. In any case: “Our users thank us for the abundance of information by simply returning to meinestadt.de. This is how we were able to increase the number of our visits in the past several years,” said Manfred Stegger, chief executive of the operating company allesklar.com AG.
