New Mobile App for WebOS from Das Örtliche

The leading German telephone directory for local search Das Örtliche has furthered its expansive offering of apps for mobile devices by releasing an app for the HP TouchPad with the operating system WebOS, available for a free download in the HP App Catalog. By supporting WebOS, Das Örtliche now offers an app for almost every smartphone operating system on the market.
In addition to the classic address and phone number search provided by the directory, users also have the capability of conducting a vicinity search, a thematic search, as well as an explorative map search, which handily displays search results on the map to make navigation even easier. With the new version of the app, everything from pharmacies to ATMs can be easily located.

“We have developed the app in cooperation with HP in a relatively short amount of time and we are quite impressed by the possibilities offered by WebOS. There is no doubt that this platform will also play an important role in the future,” Das Örtliche’s product manager Andreas Bais announced in a press release. With more than 330 downloads in the first few hours of the app’s release on Thursday of last week, it is clear that WebOS is going to be a major player in the mobile market.
