iPhone 4S: Same Package, Totally Different Content

“Picking up where amazing left off” – the new slogan for the iPhone 4S. Quite some words, considering that many die-hard Apple fans are quite disappointed in the lack of an iPhone 5. But just because there is no optical difference between the previous iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S, it still has some pretty spectacular features for users to check out that can make local searches be conducted in a much more elegant fashion.
The iPhone 4S offers users the possibility to search locally even more elegantly than even before, thanks to a combination of various technologies (such as speech-recognition, AI, text-to-speech, and local search). The device doesn’t just understand a command like “where is there a good sushi restaurant nearby?” but interprets such a command by analyzing different parts, such as sushi, ratings (good ones first), and a vicinity search, and therefore pulls up an app, like in this case, Yelp. Siri also recognizes when users are in an app, and will follow commands like “call Sushi XY” or “navigate me to the fifth result”. We’re anxious to see how all of this will work. Google Maps will, as long as the features works properly and users use it actively, probably lose quite some traffic due to this new feature. In addition, the iPhone 4S offers additional superlatives like the “best camera ever on a phone”, with 8 megapixels.

All of this technology needs a good processor, and the iPhone 4S offers the users just that: with the new dual-core A5 chip, graphics are better, data loads faster, and because it runs efficiently, Apple claims that the new iPhone has even better battery life.

Another new feature provided through the new operating system iOS 5 allows iPhone, iPad and iPod users to message each other for free, making it similar to the popular BlackBerry Messenger. Now it’s even easier to share cool new places found using the iPhone’s new features with your friends. Apple may have disappointed many by its new launch, but you should really never judge a book by its cover.
