klickTel Launches Open API Interface for Local Search Data
Private programmers and companies can immediately begin integrating the local-search function of the online directory klickTel in their websites or mobile applications. According to the operator, Telegate, interested parties will begin receiving quick and free access to over 28 million telephone and business pages entries from the klickTel databank through the launch of the Open API, or the programming interface.
With the Open-API, additional tools can be added to websites aside from the local search function: a ratings-widget, a route-planner, and a statistic tool for analysis are also available.
At the same time, the launch of the programming interface calls for what Telegate calls the “klickTel Open-API Hackathon”: at the event taking place in Essen, Germany on the 26th and 27th of November, the telecommunications company wants to encourage a special kind of development project by searching for users who have integrated klickTel data in an especially creative manner on their website or mobile application. Additional ratings criteria are range and added value for users. Anyone with a good idea can apply until November 9th per email under openapi@telegate.com.
