Europe’s Silicon Valley: Berlin Hotbed forInnovative Start-Ups
Berlin is really becoming the place-to-be in Europe, and for good reason: the city has a unique flair and a lot to offer. And citizens of Berlin love compliments coming from the outside: tech-blogger Dmitri seems to have a lot of nice things to say about the Hauptstadt, even going as far as to say, “[Berlin] will become the next New York of the startup world.”
In his post “Berlin Startup Community ist Wunderbar”, Dmitri writes about tweleve different aspects that Berlin has to offer that position the city to really take off. To avoid rambling, we’d like to sum up some of his most valuable points:
Berlin has a lot of advantages that help set it apart from other cities. First of all, it’s located in the heart of Europe, meaning most European metropolises are easily reached within a two hour plane flight. There are also a number of direct flights to the US and Asia. Also, the number of top universities in the area has Berlin posed to bring in new, innovative talent.
Dmitri also praises the design of German startups, saying they “get design much better than in the US.” There are a number of compliments headed our way, which makes us feel pretty good about ourselves. We are definitely excited to see where the Berlin tech-community is headed, and what we can expect in the near future. Will Berlin really be the next Silicon Valley? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see…meanwhile, we invite our readers to have a look at Dmitri’s blog for more information.
