Organic Search with SuchDichGrün.de

As of this week, users can now search for organic and eco-friendly retailers in their city by using the website SuchDichGrün.de. The site, currently offered in the beta-version, provides users with a collective of various retailers throughout Germany, which offer an array of organic and/or eco-friendly products.
The carrier of the site, DeTeMedien, announced the launch of the site this week at a Convention Camp. Ben Broshi, vice president of New Markets, issued the following statement in regards to the launch: “There are many special interest niches within local search that are important to a specific target group or to a social topic, such as deals or organic. We combine the classic directory with information about various quality seals, and report about sustainability within the environment and of our health. We see ourselves responsible to respond to this topic as subsidiary of the Deutsche Telekom, and to use our core competence to support local search that can improve the environment and our own health. Through user generated content, we hope to improve the sense of togetherness within the community through the assignment: make entries, take pictures.”

The site offers an extensive collection of Germany’s quality seal-lexicon. Each seal has a small description and a link directly to the website. In addition to this, SuchDichGrün.de offers users the possibility to conduct a search for organic and eco-friendly retail providers in their area. Retailers are displayed using Bing Maps, and user can view retailers own pages on SuchDichGrün.de, which display useful information like opening times, telephone numbers, website, as well as a small description. Users can edit this information and upload their own photos, as well as add missing companies, therefore helping complete the site’s collection. The community also functions as a rating community, in which retailers can be rated with up to five stars.

In addition to the local search, users can also view the latest ecological news, be it about the latest electric vehicle on the market or even pop-culture news about celebrities and their actions to help the environment.
Users can log-in using their Google, Yahoo, Facebook, and Twitter accounts respectively. We would like to encourage our readers to have a look at what SuchDichGrün.de has to offer; this is a site taking local search to a whole different level.
