Gelbe Seiten: Three New Apps for the Year 2012

The directory Gelbe Seiten is clearly reacting to the growing demand for applications for smartphones and tablet computers: the company has released new apps for the iOS operating system, Android, as well as Bada.
The application designed for the iPad is now available for download, and users can quickly find service providers and companies. In addition to finding new locations on the go, users can have themselves led directly to the address, all in the application, according to a press release. The developers have also created categories for the most common entries, such as doctors, restaurants, or hairdressers, which can be added as favorites and individually categorized. The appearance is unique to each device: the larger detailed-view and the extra large map provide a quick overview. Results are displayed in a list as well as on the map. With the app, a route can be planned out both for walking and for driving, explains Gelbe Seiten. The entire display can be utilized for this interaction thanks to a retraction function.

For Android smartphones, there is not only an update for the app available, but as well as a totally new design. The directory also provides a brand new app with it’s emergency app, which was previously available for the iPhone. The application can quickly find coordinating results for health, home, vehicle, finances, law, and counseling. In addition, there is a quick-dial button for contacting emergency services, poison control centers, emergency pharmacies, as well as individually saved contacts. With the SOS feature, users can send an emergency email or text message to a previously selected contact.

With the completely new app for the mobile operating system Bada, Gelbe Seiten developed a third platform to their iOS and Android systems: users can also use the mobile local search from the directory on their Samsung house Wave smartphones. The application, which is similar in appearance to its iPhone and Android partner app, is now available for download in the Samsung App Store. As before, the Gelbe Seiten app offers users a vicinity search, in which users can find the nearest hotel, café, shopping center or other service providers and companies. In addition, the directory search and the individual search also offer a number of features making it easy to locate businesses with the practical route planner or the ability to organize the results to a users own preference.
