Payback Expands iPhone App With Das Örtliche’s Special Search
Germany’s market leader for bonus collecting has just released a new version for its application for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The latest Payback-App, in cooperation with Das Örtliche, now offers users theme channels for local search.
Payback customers that download the latest version of the app in the Apple Store will find a new point in the menu: clicking on “Extras” can show users where the next ATMs are, where the next movie theater is, or when the next cultural event is. The data is delivered by Das Örtliche. Payback is trying to expand these kinds of local services, according to the app. This ambition is confirmed by DeTeMedien, the carrier for the online directory.
Gelbe Seiten iPhone App Now With Navigation
Das Telefonbuch did it about three weeks ago, now Gelben Seiten is following suit: with the new application, the iPhone or the iPad can become a navigation system – for free. Das Telefonbuch Celebrates 130 Years
On July 14th, 1881, the first telephone book was released under the cumbersome name “Verzeichnis der bei der Fernsprecheinrichtung Betheiligten” [lit. “Directory of Involved Parties of Telephone Installations”]. What began with 187 entries was smirked at as the “Book of 99 Mockeries”, is now an essential institution: Das Telefonbuch is one of the most-used directory medias in Germany. Coupies Releases Mobile-Web App – Is the Universal App Coming?
The self-proclaimed largest couponing marketplace in Germany Coupies is now offering in addition to its apps for iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and Nokie, as well as the operating system Windows Mobile and Java, a new web standard HTML5 based browser-application. This is hardly different to the iPhone app, claims the company, but does have one advantage: it works on many more devices and allows more people to use the mobile discounts. Google Sends +1 On World Tour and Follows Facebook’s Suit
For quite some time, the Google recommendation button with which users could rate websites or search results with “this is cool” was only available on the English version of google.com. As of this week, the search engine giant is making the +1 button available worldwide, starting with google.de, google.co.uk, and google.fr. More countries should be made available soon, according to the Google-Webmaster-Blog.
