meinestadt.de Integrates Local Deals

Since the beginning of the month, meinestadt.de offers local deal coupons in addition to regional deal guides. Users can find new deals from national coupon platforms like Groupon or DailyDeal, in addition to regional deal offerings in the new “Deals” menu.
After choosing the preferred city, users are directly directed to the latest local deals. For now, there will be about 2,000 deals from the approximately 70 largest cities in Germany, according to a press release. Those who come from smaller cities can see deals within 80 kilometers. In addition, everyone can access the national “online-deals”. These appear automatically under the offering for local deals.

Those who prefer to receive the latest deals in their email can also subscriber to the deal-newsletter.

Meinestadt.de: Local Online-Marketing Now With Google AdWords

Starting immediately, regional ad customers from meinestadt.de can book directory ads as well as Google AdWords. This is made possible by a strategic alliance between the two internet giants. meinestadt.de is offering something that has been already available from the online directory Das Örtliche since the beginning of the year, and from the local ratings portal Qype since this July: an app for the Windows Phone 7. In cooperation with Microsoft, the city portal developed this special mobile application. The apps for the iPhone and Android smartphones have been available for quite some time.

The app is available in the Windows Marketplace, under http://redir.ec/meinestadt-windowsphone7, to download. The developers have chosen the most popular categories from the vicinity radar for the app, according to allesklar.com. Users that are on-the-go can search for restaurants, cafés, hotels, or ATMs for all German cities and municipalities. Users also receive weather information, events, and film times in the vicinity. The smatphone’s localization is automatically conducted using GPS.
