Poynt-App for Windows Phone 7: German Version with Searchteq

Windows Phone 7 (WP 7) is gradually gaining speed in the app world: Meinestadt.de just released their app for the mobile operating system, and now Poynt and its partner suchen.de are following suit.
The Canadian provider for location-based services has been cooperating with the Munich-based v, which operates suchen.de, since mid-2009. Poynt combines the local search with weather information on the spot, and addresses from cinemas and film listings in the local vicinity. The address data for the German version of the Poynt-app come from suchen.de. A special service is the restaurant search, that can be narrowed down according to culinary styles. The local search engine suchen.de has improved its local weather information for storm warnings. Those searching for services in particular cities immediately see if there is a storm warning for the region or not, which can be especially practical when searching for leisure activities or for rental cars. Webadress.de With Ratings from golocal

The Searchteq GmbH and the TVG Verlag will be immediately integrating the ratings from the community golocal with their united local search engine for business email and internet addresses, webadress.de. In December, Searchteq had already integrated the golocal ratings in the local search engine suchen.de.
Not only will contact information, photos, and operating hours be found by users search for stores, companies, or service providers, but also their ratings from other users with extracts of their comments. More detailed information can be viewed through the direct linking of golocal. webadress.de users can also give ratings – just like by suchen.de. All users have to do is register on the site.

suchen.mobi: LBS On the Go

Okay, so the app has actually been around for quite awhile now. But not until last week did the company Searchteq publically present its location-based service suchen.mobi at the T-City-Tag in Friedrichshafen. The free smartphone app delivers local information on-the-go and helps get a quick orientation.Suchen.mobi is pretty much the mobile version of the local search engine suchen.de, which offers its search results on the app. No surprise there, seeing as how Searchteq also runs suchen.de. Suchen.mobi users get information such as addresses, detailed descriptions, user ratings, and business hours for service providers, companies, stores, and restaurants. Results are shown on an interactive map, which is provided by Microsoft’s search engine Bing. The user’s current location can either be located per GPS or be entered manually. Poynt: German Version for iPhone

The mobile local search Poynt is now available in Germany as app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The application will be complimented by the local search engine suchen.de, which is already a cooperative partner for the Poynt apps for Android and BlackBerry.

Those that download this free app in the iTunes App Store won’t have any problems on-the-go. Poynt can help users find the next café, hotel, or shopping center without any major difficulties. The app can also display information about public offices and tourist sights. Starting immediately, the local search engine suchen.de provides ratings for the search results. This is made possible through the partnership with the rating-community golocal. Those that search suchen.de for products and services within a city will now find the ratings that the members of the golocal community gave to the coordinating vendor, in addition to basic information such as contact information or hours of operation.
